Happy Autumn!

A White Chocolate Macadamia cake, sculpted to look like a Fall basket of leaves. Each leaf was hand formed and hand painted.
This next guy is molded from krispie treats and attached to the cake for a BU hockey coach, they were celebrating his birthdat at a Halloween Party, so what better than a skeleton hockey player?

Special Events

Cakes aren't just for weddings and birthdays. These are sculpted boxing gloves and custom designed championship belts for the sponsors of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame Rock Marciano Tournament of Champions Semi Finals. Cappiello Promotions helped put on the event and it was wonderful evening!

Don't Forget the Groom

Grooms cakes are still a popular item!

They are typically a gift to the groom from the bride and reflect his personality, he could be a snazzy dresser....

Or a snowmobile bum! This cake is a replica of the grooms "Sled Shed". The snowmobile and bride and groom were provided by the bride along with a picture of his "cottage".

Dresses by Design

There are 2 things a bride desires to make her wedding day special (aside from the perfect man!) The Perfect Dress and The Perfect Cake!

This cake combined those 2 elements and the result was a cake designed to match the bride's wedding dress. Since there was no top tier to save for her anniversary, I created a mini cake with a replica of her shoe done in Sugarpaste for them to save.

Sometimes the cake can compliment the bride's gown more subtly. In this case, the bride had a very simple gown with a band of lace around the waist, with a simple satin ribbon. I created a matching lace band of Sugarpaste to wrap around the cake, with a sage ribbon to match the bridesmaid dress and orchids to match the bouquets and centerpieces.

A Bridal Shower is another occasion for a brial gown style cake. I hand made the 3 piece invitations and designed the cake to match.

Simple and Elegant

Handsculpted Sugarpaste Calla Lillies to replicate the Bride's bouquet from 50 years ago made this elegant cake all the more meaningfull to the happy couple.

This Chocolate cake with Meringue Icing and covered in Sugarpaste stood over 20" tall. Accented with sparkling metallic gold Sugarpaste pearls and a handmade Sugarpaste bow.

Shopping and Cake - a Perfect Pair!

My favorite - a Pink Champagne cake with Raspberry filling and Champagne Meringue icing, covered in Raspberry Sugarpaste! Perfect for non-chocolate lovers (yes, there are more of them than you think!)
This carved cake had a TJ Maxx gift card, gift certificate and a Gucci shoebox and Sugarpaste shoe - all completely edible!
I love to design cakes that coordinate with an event's invitation. In this case it was a baby shower, the cake was almost 2' tall, including the sculpted peapod on top. Cupcake favors with sugarpaste peapods really provided a nice finishing touch!

Chocolate cocoa and French Vanilla cake with Raspberry Filling and Meringue Icing, covered in Sugarpaste detailing.

Here is another baby shower cake that reflected the invitation as well - Raspberry Chocolate cake with Raspberrry Meringue filling, with Meringue Icing and covered in Sugarpaste, with Sugarpaste rosettes.

The Kennally Lighthouse

This job consisted of 22 centerpiece 8” round cakes with marbleized sugarpaste and handmade chocolate seashells, each cake was then placed on a hurricane lamp filled with sand and shells. Once the cakes were cut and desert was served the candles in the hurricane lamps were lit for the remainder of the reception. In addition there was a showpiece cake that was 3 4” high octagon tiers, with a hand carved lighthouse and handmade chocolate seashells for the bride and groom to have a cake to cut and take home for their anniversary.

Go Team! Sport Cakes

Dominic's Duffle Bag can be customized to any sport with your favorite player's jersey draped next to the bag as well!
Duffle bag is French Vanilla with Meringue Buttercream filling, Soccer ball is Chocolate Cocoa with Meringue Buttercream filling, hockey puck and baseball are molded krispie treats. All details are done in Sugarpaste.
Sports Cakes come in all shapes and sizes - a goalie helmet was carved and covered in Sugarpaste to top off this towering 2' tall cake for a lucky 9 year old! His team jersey was made from Sugarpaste along with the birthday banner.

and for the ultimate hockey experience - how about a team player?

This cake was carved from Chocolate Cocoa and French Vanilla, with Meringue Buttercream filling and icing. The gloves were real as was the mini-stick, and the visor was made from silver paper. Everything else was edible.

Cover Girl

A lot of design work and personalization goes into this "simple" cake. Using a photo provided by the birthday girl I created a Personalized CosmoGirl magazine cover of her, transformed into an edible image and placed on a cake of Chocolate and French Vanilla with Meringue Buttercream icing.

Magazine covers can be customized with almost any photo, almost any magazine and you can also order a laminated print-out of your magazine as an extra special presentation to the birthday girl or boy!

This is a great idea for the guys as well!!

Brian's Brews

Brian's Brews is layers of carved French Vanilla cake with Meringue Buttercream filling, covered in hand painted Sugarpaste. The beer bottles are completely edible, handmade from sugar, labels are all unique, custom designed specifically for the birthday boy! The bottles rest in the sugar "ice", the only thing that is not edible on this cake is the foil wrapped on 2 of the beer bottles.

This cake can be modified many ways, here is another version for a St. Patrick's Day party...

They were thrilled with this cake - however they would not cut into it! I found out it was 2 weeks later before they finally cut the cake. I certainly do NOT advise that - cut the cake - they taste too good to waste!
